This is the first geocache that I've hidden, and I've placed it in the small village where I've lived for the last couple of years. Abbots Langley is situated in Hertfordshire, sitting just within the north-west corner of the M25 (between junctions 20 and 21A). It's a fairly quiet, small village, which is quite impressive given its location, and I have certainly enjoyed living here. I decided to make this a multi-cache which will take you on a short walk through the village, picking up clues from the surroundings which will eventually lead you to the final destination of the cache. I don't think that you should find anything particularly difficult about this cache and the terrain is pretty easy going. The walk is about a mile or so and about an hour or less should be enough for you to collect all the clues and find it. Good luck and any feedback on this, my first cache, would be appreciated!

Waypoint 1: Car Park N 51° 42.358 W 000° 25.160 Location Map This car park in Abbots Langley is free of charge and I've never seen it full so you shouldn't have any problems parking here. Once you've parked up, make your way to the second waypoint through the centre of the village.
Waypoint 2: Parish Church The parish church is quite a good looking building in my opinion and sits within a rather nice church yard. These co-ordinates should take you to a church information board. The Revd Anna Matthews lives at A0, Kindersley Way and her telephone number is 265B29.

Waypoint 3: War Memorial N 51° 42.479 W 000° 24.965 Still within the church grounds, and only a very short walk from the last location, you'll find the war memorial. Number C is the number of Private Bennetts named on the memorial.
Waypoint 4: Garden Just over the road from my favorite restaurant in Abbots Langley (Abbots Tandoori), you will find this very small garden. There isn't too much to see, though the solitary park bench will probably be a useful place to sit if you buy a bag of chips from the fish and chip shop over the road. Stones embedded in the pavement provide a clue as to when the garden was created (or redeveloped?)... The year in question is 200D.

Waypoint 5: Kitters Green N 51° 42.232 W 000° 25.180 As you begin to walk down the hill you will come across this small green on the left of the road. You might notice the unusual cattle pen that is here - I have no idea what that's about! Also on the green you will find an oak tree planted to commemorate 100 years of the Abbots Langley Co-operative Womens Guild with a small plaque next to it indicating this. The second year on the plaque is 19E3.
Waypoint 6: Playground This waypoint will take you to a fairly small playground, but no doubt those who bring young kids along geocaching will find a reason to stop here for a few minutes :-) Count the number of seats on the rocking horse - this is number F.

Final Cache Location
OK, now that you've gathered the answers from the locations above, you can figure out the actual location of the cache by substituting the values you've picked up for the appropriate letters:
N 51° 42.CBA You're looking for a medium sized plastic container as pictured on the right. Inside it you will find a logbook, disposable camera and hopefully some other goodies too... Please take a picture of yourselves with the camera, and in the logbook note the frame number of the picture(s) you took along with your comments. I will try and replace the camera every few months and place the photos from it up on this website, so do check back.
