Lottery is a free palm application for checking your lottery tickets. Anyone who has many tickets, such as those in a lottery syndicate, will know how much trouble it is to go through all the tickets checking them against the week's winning numbers. This program will do all that work for you by checking all of the tickets and telling you which ones have won anything.
This current version is modelled around the lottery in the UK and as such it handles tickets containing six numbers of between one and fourty nine. Six main numbers and a bonus number are drawn each time the lottery is played and the winning combinations are three, four, five or six main numbers or five main numbers and the bonus ball. In the future I would like to extend my program to be configurable for any lottery system so I would appreciate any information detailing the lotteries in your area so that I can make sure that it will be able to handle them.
Try out my other Palm Software too!

The Lottery application works very much like standard Palm applications such as MemoPad. From the main screen, tap 'New' to add a new ticket. Once a ticket has been entered you can edit it by tapping on the entry for it in the list. From the edit screen you can change any of the numbers, change the category or delete the ticket. Tapping the 'Check' button on the main screen will let you check the tickets in the current category against the weeks results. You will be prompted to enter the winning numbers and then the tickets will be checked. You can customize the result display from the 'Prefences' menu on the main screen. Because only the tickets in the current category are checked when you hit the 'Check' button, you can group your tickets into different categories for different competitions. For example you may want to create one category for Saturday tickets and another for Wednesday tickets in the UK lottery. To check all tickets just select the 'All' category.
This is one of the first programs which I've written for the Palm Pilot so there could well be plenty of bugs hiding in there somewhere... If you find any faults in either the application itself or its documentation then I would be really grateful if you could report them to me by email at matt@mattmarsh.net. If you could include the version number of the program you are running (this can be found from the 'About' dialog box) then that would also be helpful.
