Computing

Well computers have been a major part of my life for a number of years now especially since I started my university degree five years ago. This section contains information which I have built up related to this field. The major sections here are listed on the right, feel free to browse them at will...

I guess my first real exposure to computers was when my dad brought home a Texas Instruments TI99/4A home computer when I was about eight years old. I guess to begin with a lot of my use of computers was just as a toy for playing games on, but as I began to use that machine, and ones which we had at home following that, I became more and more interested in other aspects of the computers and found that I had learnt quite a bit by just sitting there and using them.

Of course my knowledge increased most dramatically during my university course. I headed to university not being sure whether I had picked the right course for me or not, but within a couple of months I knew that I had really made the right choice. I learnt so much and had a great time too.

Nowadays, computing is of course more than just a hobby. Not only do I spend hours at home sitting at my machine being a geek, but also I work as a computer programmer for a company called Citrix, whom you may or may not have heard of. It's good to be paid for something that you're interested in!

Ongoing projects:

Web Development

Well, as you can probably tell, I've spent quite a few hours putting these webpages together now. So in this section you'll find some of the fruits of my experience. In particular, I'm putting some scripts in this section which I've written and feel might be useful to others.

Palm Pilot

Palm Pilots are definitely one of the coolest gadgets around and I find that I use mine constantly. I've had it for over a year now and during that time I've started to develop some small applications for the platform which are available for download from this section.

Programming

Well, having done a fair amount of programming now I've built up some information which might be of use to other developers too. Take a look at this section for information on some programming languages and other bits and pieces to do with programming.
